The council’s popular jobs and skills fair returns on Thursday 1 October.
Held at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic Football Club, the fair offers jobseekers the chance to meet employers, network and apply for local vacancies, apprenticeships and training opportunities.
Over 900 people came last year, and we are expecting this event to be as well attended.

Those looking for work will have the opportunity to speak to over 40 organisations across a range of sectors including transport, hospitality, healthcare, construction, customer service, digital and education.
Attendees will be able to access organisations offering training and apprenticeships, including the Shooters Hill Sixth Post-16 College, Catch 22, TikTok Academy and the council’s Greenwich Learns partners GDCA, Global Solutions, London South East College, UCRA and Unity Works.
Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will also be on hand to offer advice about the support available to job seekers, including programmes such as Restart, Trailblazer and Connect to Work.
The Restart scheme helps people who have been out of work for nine months or more by providing skills training, confidence building, CV help, and job matching.
The Trailblazer initiative helps secure paid work experience placements primarily for people not in education or training, care leavers and carers.
The Connect to Work programme offers up to 12 months of tailored vocational support for people who have disabilities, long-term health issues or other personal circumstances that can make it challenging to find work.
The Jobs and Skills Fair is only open to Royal Greenwich residents. It is advisable to book in advance as there is limited space for people to turn up on the day. Tickets are available online.
The fair is organised by the council in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions and is supported by Berkeley and Knight Dragon.
